House Price application that helps people with disabilities find jobs won the Hult Prize by Chula.

Hult Prize is the world’ s largest student competition for social entrepreneurship under the collaboration of Hult International Business School, United Nations and Education First. The Hult Prize has been established since 2010 and has inspired more than million students throughout the world to build new social enterprise startups to solve the real social problems.

This year, the contest’s theme is “How to tackle the problem of youth unemployment” focusing on solving the problem of youth unemployment. Two universities of Thailand have joined the project are Thammasat University and Chulalongkorn University.

Having been held consecutively for four years, the Hult Prize at Chula is the event that create startup ecosystem in the university, a significant experience for students. Four teams have passed the internal pitch round entering to the final pitch.

The House Price Team won the first prize with its ‘ABLE’ project, the quality services provided by well-trained disabled people so that they can get long-term employment with a company.

The mobile application is universally designed for disabled people. The application features training and e-learning lessons for disabled people in various subjects. They can select the date, time, and venue to study. It also provides job searches from companies which have vacant positions, with job details, venues and date of employment.

It is believed that the company will be interested due to competitive prices with other service providers and the businesses need not to provide training by themselves. In addition, companies which hire disabled people fulltime can also get tax benefits and be a part of company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) initiatives as well.

The second team is Extraordinary team which sent ‘THISABLE’ project – a medium website to search for disabled people by using Artificial Intelligence to match between companies and people with disabilities.

The third is Newtabinitiative which sent MESOLV – a platform that link between technicians directly with customers.

The fourth is Kick the Dust which sent PRITURE – a platform that provide job opportunities for disabled people by exchanging handmade products and one-stop payment service.

From now on, both the winning teams of Hult Prize at Chula and Hult Prize at Thammasat will represent Thailand at the Asian region to enter the Accelerator Program in London, United Kingdom where the global business experts will share their knowledge, and preparing for the global final challenge in United States of America. National Innovation Agency (NIA) has supported Thai startups to go for the global stage.
