StormBreaker Venture, 1st EdTech accelerator in SEA

Disrupt Technology Venture Co., Ltd. have publicly launched the first Edtech Accelerator in South East Asia called “StormBreaker Venture” along with accredited partners;

Line Thailand, Learn Capital (1st Venture Capital specialized in Edtech with over billion THB funding), 500 TukTuks II, Beacon Venture, TDRI and many other well-known partners to be part in the educational transformation of 1 million Thais by 2020.

Krating Poonpol, founder of Disrupt said StormBreaker Venture is an ongoing project from Education Disruption Conference & Hackathon which was set up at the beginning of this year. With the dedication to inspire and impact on Thai education system, Mr. Krating has launched Edtech Accelerator called “StormBreaker Venture” with a big support from various departments to join and drive this Edtech Startup/ education technology for transforming education system in Thailand with full capability.

Up until now, there is a setback in Thai education system to be rectified. For example, English learning (English for All) since most of Thais have been studying English many years, they still can’t speak English and Thailand English proficiency was ranked among the lowest comparing to any other countries. Moreover, Thais need an effective learning platform which can be easily accessed all around the country and also included STEM subject; Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and STEM and Coding for All that is an important need of the future.

However, education system in Thailand is still lack of modern, efficient operating system to minimize work overload handled by our teachers from the unnecessary non-teaching tasks. With this concern, “Cloud-Powered School” has been created to help our teachers focusing more on teaching process. Our teachers still need to resell their profession at all time “Teacher of The Future” and need more efficient equipment for work industry in the future. The learning process in digital technology era is not defined only in schools, universities. Everyone at all ages should “Reskill Professional” to be prepared for the instant transformation in digital disruption era. This is just a few examples regarding the education opportunity that needs to be fulfilled with Startups or Technology and this only needs true dedication and intention to change our country with powerful education system impacting over 1 million Thais to get good-quality education system as they deserve.
