Amidst the shocking news that more and more corporates are cutting jobs nowadays to pave the ways for Artificial Intelligence or AIs to replace human jobs, there remains some room for human beings to do the jobs that AIs cannot replace.

Here come three essential skills that will keep salarymen survive in the changing job markets.

Jobthai.com website advises that for salarymen to keep themselves in the job market, they should possess these three skills: social skills, emotional intelligence and creativity. These are skills that AIs cannot replace as they require learning processes and natural development of human brain.

Social skills can be learned and developed while humans are building relations with each other through speaking, listening or expression of feelings. We will then learn how to impress another person through these processes. For emotional intelligence, naturally, a human has common sense in catching one’s own and other’s feelings and emotions. When we learn how another person is feeling towards an incident, we can then use that knowledge to build relationships with that person. Creativity, meanwhile, derived from the complexity of human brain that is limitless and can be further developed to innovate new things.

So we can see that these skills are all from natural learning processes of the human being. It is something that robots or AIs cannot do as good as human beings. However, these skills have to be practised as it does not come naturally in everybody. We have to learn, develop, and practice these skills so that we, human being, and AI can live harmoniously with each other.

AI or robot will be our rivals in the tedious jobs or service jobs such as air ticketing and reception services. But in the manufacturing sector, robot development is slower, more expensive yet cannot solve technical problems as good as human beings.

Another risky job for the human being is database analysis because AIs can analyse complicated information faster and better than the human being.

We also see more AIs in replace of human beings in some technical job such as a medical assistant. Take medical surgeries, for example, AIs and the human being can today work alongside efficiently. However, AIs cannot yet replace doctors in case of important organs or complicated surgeries which requires truly technical skills and decision-making skills of doctor and nurse teams as it is a crucial decision that will impact human lives.

AIs can also do consultation jobs. For example, they can provide investment consultant through database analysis software that can give accurate and appropriate information to investors. However, their capacity is still limited to general investment consultation. For more in-depth financial planning, the issue can be too complicated for AIs to deliver the proper solutions for each investor.

In some areas of jobs, AI technologies can work alongside human beings to deliver better results. For example, AIs can better assess customer satisfaction while human beings can bring this analysis to create new types of services that can help improve customer relations.
