NIA-NSTDA And Thai Startups Visit Huawei In China

During March 11-12, 2019, the MOST Startup working group of Science and Technology Ministry, led by National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) or NIA and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) together with the winning teams of Startup Thailand Pitching Challenge 2018 visited the operation of Huawei Technologies in China.

The team from Thailand have a chance to learn the management of innovative information technology and communications at Huawei OpenLab in Suzhou, welcomed by Keven Bai, Head of Global OpenLab.

Huawei’s OpenLab is the ICT platform focusing on joint innovation, partner development, solution development and supports business of the startups. The OpenLab works on four dimensions: (1) Innovation Center (2) Capacity Center (3) Integration & Verification Center (4) Training Center

The team also has a chance to visit Huawei Shanghai Mobile Broadband Executive Briefing Center (MBB EBC) at Huawei Research & Development Center, a house of 14,000 researchers, accounting for 17.5% of total Huawei researchers globally. The company has 14 R&D Centers in 170 countries, totally 80,000 researchers or 45% of total 180,000 employees. The fragship products of MBB EBC are Cellular IoT, Cloud, Mobile/Home Broadband.
