Loops: ride-sharing services to support concert business

Ride-sharing is another startup with good growth prospect, especially in Thailand where fundamental transportation cannot yet support everybody’s need.

At present, Bangkok’s commuters would see competition in the ride-sharing services from oversea operators. But there’s a Thai startup called ‘Loops’ which sees business opportunity for concert goers who are in need of ride-sharing services before and after the concerts.

Mr. Ittikorn Attapong, the founder of Loops, said the business is designed to serve the needs of concert goers, who normally have commuting problems after the concert is over. They usually have to wait in long queue and sometimes for hours for vehicles to get back home.

“Loops’ services is to arrange vans or buses to provide commuting services for concert goers. The responses have been great with many more passengers are interested in using the services.”

To serve customers, the company has launched website www.loops-event.com through which customers can book for the van’s seats. They can select the services by specifying the concerts they are attending, service schedules, number of seats and prices.

For services at site, Loops team members will help take passengers to the van and check the passengers’ names for accuracy. Currently, there are two service points to get on the van: Mor Chit BTS station and Victory Monument BTS station. In the future, with better database management, it can probably add the services to take them home as well.

Loops was founded by a team of 3 students from Chulalongkorn University who passed the ‘Chula Startup League’ Batch 1 Project which was jointly organized by CU Innovation Hub and the National Innovation Agency (NIA). Loops project was one of the 14 final teams who passed through the Incubation Project of Allianze Ayudhaya Activator. The service was kicked off since 1 March this year.
