Grab positions to be a daily app for consumers

Though we are living in the world where you can commute to work, order three meals from food delivery, deliver shopping and pay for daily essentials by poking app icons on your smartphone, you think it’s super convenient.

Is it even better if you can do all in just one app?

Grab recently shares its smart living vision, saying it will be an all-in-one app for people living in the smart city in Southeast Asia. It serves your needs from mobile mobility, on-demand food delivery, logistics, cashless payments to financial services.

Called itself, an all-in-one mobile app, Grab soon will involve with the daily life of people from commuting to work by on-demand transport app GrabCar, food delivery by GrabFood, goods and document delivery by GrabBike and all be paid by one mobile wallet through GrabPay.

The positioning of Grab came from a result of a survey it conducted to gather opinions from consumers in the region to find out what people in Southeast Asia envision Grab to be like in ten years’ time. The outcome shows that majority of the 500 consumers who responded wished for a one-stop, every day, lifestyle app that complements their daily lives.

Thanks to its recent development which it made interconnectedness of ecosystem of consumers services, allowing people to more comfortable access service through the use of technology.

Tarin Thaniyavarn, Country Head of Grab Thailand said the development of its technology is aiming towards the seamless mobility.

Not only transport, it has meant to develop all services towards the direction by offering GrabPay, a mobile wallet service which is also complementing its other services GrabFood and GrabRewards.

“By building a technology platform that serves the everyday lifestyle needs of consumers, together with the interconnectedness of each of our service, they help each other grow. For example, transport allows us to expand our GrabFood and Grab Financial services while mobile wallet can be used for both transport and food.”

Most recent, the company has entered into a partnership with Sunday, the insurance platform developer. As they use the AI and big data to analyse the consumers’ need with targeting to addressing the consumers’ pain-point in using insurance services. The new service is serving ride-hailing users by offering car insurance and health insurance with the privileges and suitable premiums for Grab customers.

These services also help improve an entire ecosystem of connected users who are agents, merchants and delivery partners. Lots of them are micro-entrepreneurs, helping them accessing new clients and serve consumers better with how each of our services is interlinked, he added.
