Depa Launches “Digital Startup Institute”

Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) officially launches Digital Startup Institute in a bid to accelerate Thai startups be competitive in the global market.

According to depa president and CEO Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, the Digital Startup Institute was established by depa with a mission to promote startup business, having them to apply deep digital technology fulfilling capabilities. The institute also aims to increase number of startups for business development making Thailand competitive at the global stage.

“We want to create the collaboration network among the public, private and academic sectors to strengthen the startup ecosystem and we hope that the startup ecosystem of the country will be able to grow rapidly through the collaboration of all parties,” said the president of depa.

The Digital Startup Institute has started promoting the startup development since July 2018 in several aspects including depa Startup Fund which has already supported more than 40 startup firms.

In March 2019, the Institute’s operation office was moved to Ladprao Hill Building. With the new office, the Institute can offer the services for startups more extensively including co-working space and one-stop service. Moreover, the Institute has developed the system supporting the startups, especially at the growing stage, in terms of knowledge-based development, local and international network development, as well as the demand side support.
