20 startup nations at Techsauce Global Summit 2018 HealthTech and AI startups Outshine Competitors

Techsauce Global Summit 2018 recently ended successfully with the semi-final and final rounds of the Techsauce Global Pitching Competition.

Ms.Oranuch Lerdsuwankij, CEO and Co-Founder of Techsauce Media Co Ltd, the organizer of Techsauce Global Summit, said the startups competing in the final round were the winners of Techsauce Roadshow pitching competitions held in 20 countries across the Asia-Oceania region.  This year’s roadshow saw more than 200 startups taking part in the pitching competitions.

“There are fast-growing and new startups from every country that joined the competition this year, particularly those from the HealthTech, Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Reality sectors.  Some newcomers have shown their potential and got into the final round,” said Ms.Oranuch.

In the semi-final round, 17 teams from 20 countries had pitched their ideas clearly with passion to the judges and audiences. At the end, the judges selected 10 teams to go onto the final round.

Singapore’s EdTech startup CognaLearn, which offers several new software to optimize learning based on cognitive science and helping people learn better and faster. Hong Kong-based miro developed the happiest artificial intelligence on this planet. Miro brings AI superpowers to athletes and brands in the sport of running. It helps amateur and professional runners find their photos in marathon events instantly and analyzes their running postures to prevent injuries. At the same time, miro also helps brands and event organizers collect engagement data too.

Runcloud.io, a startup from Malaysia, offers cloud platform solutions to the developers which help cut cost by 99.8%, Indian startup Nowfloats. Inagri, an AgriTech startup from Indonesia, presents a procurement platform that supplies over 200 items of agri-goods and ingredients to B2B buyers such as restaurants and hotels.

Taiwanese startup Clef Technology showcased Cloud-based solutions to help solve pipeline leakages, which can lead to gas explosions. The team said gas explosions were once a serious issue that took place near her team member’s house.

Filippino energy tech Exora, Australia’s virtual reality startup Inspace XR and Israeli AR platform developer EdgyBees also queued up to pitch on the stage, followed by the last pitching from SzeleSTIM, an Austrian startup which develops a wearable electromedical device for Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation, allowing minimal-invasive and non-pharmacological therapy that is adapted to individual patients.

After an eight-month long competition, SzeleSTIM was announced as the winner and received USD10,000 (approximately 3.29 hundred thousands Baht). Meanwhile, the Special Grand Prize worth  USD100,000 (estimated at 3.29 million Baht), went to miro which will get a chance to join Chinacelerator, MOX and SOSV.
