Virtual Event a golden opportunity to recover economy of Thailand

NIA brings together 133 agencies at STARTUP THAILAND x INNOVATION THAILAND EXPO 2020 creating a startup ecosystem via a virtual event, a great chance for business matching, fund raising, and meeting with professional mentors.

Pariwat Wongsamran, Director of Entrepreneur and Enterprise, Director of Startup Thailand, National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) or NIA discloses at the “Opportunity” live program that STARTUP THAILAND x INNOVATION THAILAND EXPO 2020, the first virtual event in Thailand will be held under the concept “Innovation in Times of Crisis” during September 1-4.

The event this year is more special than ever with the merger of Startup Thailand and Innovation Thailand Expo to promote the innovation and startup ecosystem in Thailand. It is also the largest MICE tech event that startups working together with public and private sectors, and academic institutes.

Leading innovations by startups, SMEs and large technology companies will present at the virtual event. Highlights include FORUM, Virtual Marketplace, Online Business Consulting or Virtual Job Market and Live MARTech Show. 

A use of technology and innovation to turn crisis into opportunity is the key point for the event due to the Covid-19 pandemic, those include innovations of agriculture, food, health, and tourism. Audiences will witness how technology and innovations are applied to serve the changing consumer behavior, and how to promote the travel business amidst the crisis where every country closes the borders.

 More than 100 partners will share knowledge and experience at the Virtual World session to tackle the economic crisis. On August 28, FEED THE WORLD program will portray “How the agriculture and food sector adapt in the crisis to recover the economy of Thailand”.

Thai and foreign speakers will discuss the trend and direction of technology in the future. Some countries with direct experience will share theirs such as the clean energy for the future, online learning that allows startups to rapidly grow 200-300% and some companies have expanded to overseas markets. 

The event will present the MARTech business which innovations and technology are applied to serve the music and art. The concert event must apply the social distancing order, but technology can help companies to keep their fans club.

Pariwat noted that NIA teams up with 133 organizations to create the Virtual Event. NIA has worked with Thailand Tech Startup Association, Thai Fintech Association, and a committee to select startups making the most perfect event, turning crisis into opportunity for startups and recovering the economy of Thailand based on the use of technology and innovations.
