8 May 2020 Startups

FARMTO turned to online platform, delivering organic fruit and vegetable to your front door, planning to show farm-fresh food sourced from farmers at the post Covid-19.

Arthit Junnonchai, FARMTO Co-Founder said the Covid-19 crisis has caused the company to adjust the service by focusing on more online channel facilitating professional farmers. Customers can order the organic produce which have more than 60 varieties fruit and vegetable. FARMTO stopped its offline marketing plan due to the Covid-19 outbreak since February and turned to the online platform. “We studied customer needs, what types of farm produce that match with their requirements so that we can provide to them and boost the sales of organic products,” he said.

Unlike offline world, the online channel requires different strategy. For example organic jasmine rice, a beautiful packaging is not a matter, but the weight of product does. A minimum thus should be 5 kg. The less weight the rice is, delivery cost does not make sense because it has to be charged 50-70 baht per unit.

The business growth of FARMTO is not very much, he said, but key objective is to help strengthen the local farmers with chemical-free farming, delivery safety food to consumers which is a sustainable agriculture development.

The post Covid-19 outbreak, FARMTO will run both of offline and online model with its matured mobile application. There are the organic farmer community with thousands service users. A variety of products provided on FARMTO platform are avocado, jasmine rice, water melon, persimmon, banana, strawberry, mulberry, riceberry rice, mushroom, coffee blossom tea, coconut sugar, mango, melon, santol, plango.
