EdTech startup CodeKit shows “Flipped Classroom” blended model of online and offline e-learning for schools in the Post Covid-19 world.

Covid-19 brings both crisis and opportunities for the education development, online and offline world, according to Chavayot Pomcum, CEO of Codekit.co, an EdTech startup.

CodeKit.co provides online and offline Coding software programming courses, with free of charge and subscription for children, students and general public.

“The Covid-19 outbreak is considered crisis and opportunities for the education. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, online learning was not pretty much popular, but the present situation has led schools, teachers and students to move toward online practice. CodeKit thus has accelerated developing the online learning and the subscription is now gaining more interest,” he said.

CodeKit developed Computing Science for junior high and senior high schools. Having designed for the new generations, the courses aimed to create data science skills to the learners paving the way for data scientists. Meanwhile, the company has trained the trainers, working together and providing consulting to teachers and schools. The company has already developed the courses for Amnuay Silpa School and is now working with hundreds of schools.

Chavayot added that CodeKid applied the “Flipped Classroom” model, a blended online and offline e-learning where students are introduced to content at home and practice working through it at school. Teachers introduce active learning focusing on activities and practices to students, as a consequence the learning of students become more efficient.

He said technology adoption in education will be seen in the post Covid-19 world. Students, teachers and people will be able to learn and adopt technology faster, even those who never experienced with online will go for technology and applications. There will be a big change in EdTech startups with more variety of combination focusing on online learning. The basic skills will be no longer learned via offline because of cost of speakers and site and travel expense.
