Guts Super Pols pours 100 million baht into city monitoring

A security systems provider Guts Super Pols invests 100 million baht developing the smart city monitoring with face recognition system.

According to Chayawat Sathitisart, operation director of Guts Super Pols of Guts Group, the company has developed “Guts City Monitoring” combining artificial intelligence (AI) with CCTV enabling the cameras to feature face recognition to immediately search for potential criminals or missing people.

The system can also search for license plate.

Through a use of AI technology to analyse the inadvertently  behaviour, and suspicious movement of persons, cars or any vehicles, the system is working with citizen and criminals database system, it becomes the tools to tackle with emergency.

The use of AI will foster the existing security service that the company currently has more than 12,000 security workforce working throughout the country serving more than 2,6000 customers.

Once the city monitoring system detects something wrong, the company’s team will alert the police, rescue unit, hospital, fire unit, and others related entities.

Apart from the emergency, other incidents and disaster can be identified in advanced with “environment analysis” through the use of Internet of Things (IoT) alongside the AI technology. The company, in collaboration with  Pattaya City Hall will implement the “Guts City Monitoring” at the Pattaya Walking Street, the first in Thailand and then it targets the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

“With Pattaya and EEC, we are able to take care throughout the country, especially the tourism attractions, industrial estates, as well as the cities where their images can be enhanced with security system.

The security system business in Thailand is a big market and has been potentially growing, especially the upper level market where advance technology is needed. A shortage of security workforce due to regulations has also driven the use of technology.
