Five years after the launch of Profiles, Netflix rolls out a batch of new profile icons, as part of the unique personalized experience.

The Profile icons are not only a fun makeover, but it’s above all about personalization. Profiles are key to creating a highly personalized Netflix experience. The more you watch, the more the shows recommended to you will be to your unique tastes and preferences.

Over the years, Netflix has been thinking of ways to better curate the entire Netflix service so it’s always easier, quicker and simpler for you to find something great to watch right away.

From algorithms based recommendations to previews, profiles and the thumbs up/ thumbs down feature, Netflix is now able to create 130 million tailored TV stations to delight each individual member, which is made possible through personalisation.

With all these features introduced throughout the past few years, one might ask – What’s next? Giving its members greater control over their profiles, Netflix has introduced a variety of New Profile icons, featuring characters and symbols from their favorite Netflix original shows and films. Members will now have the option to choose between more than 131 kinds of new profile icons from more than 18 Netflix original shows.

With more than 1,000 hours of content coming to Netflix this year and over 130 million members around the world, it is critical to surface the right content to the right member at the right time. And this is only possible through increasingly personalizing what users see when they start watching Netflix.
